Driving Directions
Congregation Beth Ahabah is centrally located in Richmond’s historic Fan District. Parking is readily available in the garage we share with St. James’s Episcopal Church, located directly across from the Synagogue campus.
From the west via I-64 East, or the north via I-95 South
- I-64 East will merge with I-95 South.
- Take exit 78 for the Boulevard immediately thereafter.
- Turn right at the stop sign and proceed south on the Boulevard.
- Turn left on to Broad Street heading east.
- Proceed east on Broad approximately 1 mile and turn right on to Lombardy Street.
- Turn left at the statue (JEB Stuart or Stuart Circle) on to West Franklin Street.
- The Beth Ahabah/St. James’s parking deck is on your left at the end of the first block, across the street from the Synagogue buildings.
From the east via I-64 West:
- As you reach Downtown Richmond take exit 190 for 5th Street.
- Proceed south on 5th Street and turn right on Broad Street.
- Proceed west on Broad Street approximately 1 mile and turn left on to Lombardy Street.
- Turn left at the statue (JEB Stuart or Stuart Circle) on to West Franklin Street.
- The Beth Ahabah/St. James’s parking deck is on your left at the end of the first block, across the street from the Synagogue buildings.
From the south via the Powhite Parkway/76 North:
- Take the Powhite Parkway north, crossing the James River.
- Take the exit for Grove and Patterson avenues.
- Stay in the left lane and merge on to Thompson Street.
- Turn right on to Monument Avenue.
- Continue on Monument Avenue, passing the JEB Stuart monument at Stuart Circle, where Monument Avenue becomes West Franklin Street.
- The Beth Ahabah/St. James’s parking deck is on your left at the end of the first block, across the street from the Synagogue buildings.
From the South via I-95 North:
- As you reach Downtown Richmond take exit 74C for 17th Street.
- Turn right on to 17th Street and continue to the first light.
- Turn right on to Broad Street.
- Proceed west on Broad Street approximately 1.5 miles and turn left onto Lombardy Street.
- Turn left at the statue (JEB Stuart or Stuart Circle) onto West Franklin Street.
- The Beth Ahabah/St. James’s parking deck is on your left at the end of the first block, across the street from the Synagogue buildings.

This Shabbat service is only open to members of Congregation Beth Ahabah and guests invited by the family of the Bar/Bat/B. Mitzvah. We celebrate as a congregation the coming of age of one of our members with a joyful Shabbat service and Torah reading. Services at 10am are Shabbat Shacharit (morning) services, and those at 5pm are Shabbat Minchah (afternoon) services ending with Havdalah. Please note that any family celebration following this Saturday service is only for the family’s invited guests.
