Religious School

The goal of the Barbara and William B. Thalhimer, Jr. Religious School is to enrich our children's knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Judaism by providing a positive educational environment that will encourage a life-long commitment to the practice of our faith. Students from Kindergarten through Tenth Grade receive a well-rounded Jewish education with specific focus on Jewish History, Culture, Religion, and Torah.

The ideal is to actively involve the entire family in the deepening of the Jewish experience and knowledge to strengthen faith in God, love of Torah, and an identification with the Jewish people through continuing involvement in the synagogue and the Jewish community.

Schedule

The Barbara and William B. Thalhimer, Jr. Religious School meets on Sunday mornings during the school year from September through mid-May from 9:15 to 11:45am. 9th and 10th Grade Confirmation classes meet on Monday nights. Students are also encouraged to attend an optional Hebrew class for grades 3 through 7 to prepare children for Bar/Bat Mitzva, which meets at the temple on Wednesdays with an optional pizza dinner from 5:30pm - 6:00pm and class from 6:00pm - 7:15pm.

 

Registration

Religious School programs are open to all members of Congregation Beth Ahabah. If you are interested in enrolling your child please fill out our online registration form, or review and print the paper registration form, fill it out, and return it to the synagogue. Please note that tuition must either accompany your registration form in the form of a check or be paid prior to our receipt of the form by credit card via the Contribute page.
